SILVER SUNDAY 1/31/10

It is once again time for another sparkling SILVER SUNDAY with our sweet hostess Beth of Gypsy Fish Journal. Please be sure to stop by her blog here to say hello and see what pretty silvers she and all the other party participants are sharing today after you view my pieces.

I posted this closeup picture of my three little salt spoons just for Ceekay of Thinkin' of Home. Ceekay, have you ever seen such an adorable CHERUB salt spoon? Just perfect for me! She has lots of very pretty ones here, too!

Some of my favorite pieces of silver all grouped together

Silver candlesticks that I picked up at an estate sale.
Spoonful of Sugar Felt Birdies on Silver Spoon by my sweet friend Laurie of Charming Designs.

The silver service coffee set and tray was originally my mother-in-law's.

Silver Service Tea Set
I adore the squatty teapot and the pretty handled tray on this one!

Miniature Silver Service Set

Silver Candlesticks on a beautiful diamond beveled edge antique mirror
with sweet pink cherub compote on my dining room table

One of my all time favorite antique frameless mirrors
reflecting one of my vintage pin money purses and a silver mint julep cup.

My favorite silver water pitcher
The roses on the base make my heart skip a beat!

My mirrored top silverplated cake pedestal

Faux cake was designed by my talented daughter.

Silverplated Hurricane Globe base that I bought at an estate sale for $3.00!

** I sealed the base with a light coat of Deft Clear GLOSS spray paint after polishing it ~ Lots of you had asked what sealer I use ~ Use Deft and you will NEVER have to polish again. Just be aware that this is only for pieces that you do not intend to eat or drink from! **

I fill the globe with vintage ornaments whenever I find some that tickle my fancy!

Isn't this a fun Sunday event?!?! I have really enjoyed getting to know so many new friends that share my love of silver. Now I'm off to visit.....

Stephanie

SILVER SUNDAY 1/24/10

Polished our wedding silverware (Community Silverplate) so that I could join Beth's SILVER SUNDAY party again!

Please hop over to her site Gypsy Fish Journal to see the list of other participants here!

Made this silver teapot lamp with the help of my hubby and my daddy.

It helps add task lighting to an otherwise dark corner of my kitchen.

The trick is to seal the teapot after polishing it and before you add the electrical wiring. That way you never have to worry about polishing it again.

I have several silverplated water pitchers and just love using them around the house.

I always enjoy seeing my silver reflected in some of my antique mirrors.

I'm really enjoying seeing everyone's silver each week. I'll be sharing some more of my silver trays hopefully next Sunday!

Hugs,
Stephanie

SILVER SUNDAY 1/17/10

I am so happy to be participating this week in SILVER SUNDAY hosted by Beth at Gypsy Fish Journal! Please visit her here to see more participants!

I have a mania for beautiful silver and have been lucky to find several very VERY tarnished pieces that needed a new home. I’m very into polishing, hmmm……maybe I was a house servant in a previous life?!?!

Footed pieces, unusual sizes or shapes, and anything with ROSES and fancy scrolls on it will always end up coming home with me to live.

My mania also extends to sterling silver jewelry……

This antique plateau mirror atop my dining room table isn’t silver, but its aged patina is a silver hue and it casts a very pretty silver image. It was a gift from my parents one year for my birthday.

The framed silverware was a gift to my husband and me from my in-laws. My father-in-law gifted an entire set to his new bride over 59 years ago. They had the above pieces framed along with an engraved dated inscription and gave one to each sibling. It is a treasure.
bali flowers
I adore making jewelry and the above picture is some sterling silver bali beads that I use when creating bracelets and necklaces.</p>
I have so enjoyed seeing SILVER SUNDAY participants items for the past several weeks and was very glad that my new computer finally arrived so that I, too, could participate this week!

Stephanie

PINK SATURDAY 1/16/10

It's PINK SATURDAY time again!
Please join our lovely hostess Beverly of How Sweet the Sound to get the complete list of all participants.

Today I'm sharing one of my favorite Venetian Glass mirrors and a lamp that I won on eBay several years ago. It is by far the most beautiful lamp I own. I love the soft pink shades and the teensy silk roses that surround each candle base. The cherubs on the base and all the sparkly u-drop crystals make my heart sing.
Also featured is one of my lidded casseroles with pretty PINK roses on it. Hopefully the picture will enlarge if you click on it so you may see the detailing.

Lastly, I'm sharing some pretty pink Victorian lamps. I pictured these once before and since that time I put them out in our neighborhood garage sale and a strong gust of wind blew one over and it broke, so now there is only one left! I cried about it. Such a beautiful Victorian Courting Couple is feautred on the front!  Let me know if you know anyone who would like to purchase a single one! Love the pink fringed shades!

Please hop over here to see more pinkness today!

Hope everyone is gearing up for a wonderful weekend!
